Snowshoes are available at the Bryce Canyon Visitor's Center when there is sufficient snow, loaned free of charge on a first-come, first serve basis CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING: Cross-Country Skiing is allowed anywhere in Bryce Canyon National Park, although skiing on the steep winding trails below the rim is not recommended due to hazardous snow conditions, a trail brochure is available at the Bryce Canyon Visitor's Center. Cross-Country Ski Rentals are available at Ruby's Inn just outside the park Call 800-468-8660. Groomed trails are also available just outside the park which wind through meadows & forest and to the rim of the canyon. SNOWMOBILING: Bring your own Snowmobile-Groomed trails start at Ruby's Inn and extend to the East Fork/Tropic Reservoir area, 60 miles through the Dixie National Forest to play areas & overviews of Bryce Canyon (*Snowmobiling is not permitted inside Bryce Canyon National Park) Come try out the snowmobile trail from beautiful Panguitch Lake to Duck Creek to Brian Head (trail will be groomed for the winter-depending on snow conditions). ICE FISHING: Beautiful Panguitch Lake located on Scenic Byway 143 offers excellent ice fishing in the wintertime. Check with lodges at the lake for more information.
